About the Journal

Jurnal Sosfilkom: Jurnal Sosial, Filsafat dan Komunikasi is a peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal published by the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Muhammadiyah Cirebon, Indonesia. The journal is available in both online (ISSN 2686-0368) and print (ISSN 2085-0182) editions and is published biannually, with issues released in January–June and July–December. It serves as an academic platform for researchers, scholars, practitioners, and policymakers to disseminate original research findings, theoretical developments, and critical analyses in the fields of social sciences, philosophy, and communication studies.

Jurnal Sosfilkom is committed to advancing scientific knowledge by publishing high-quality scholarly works that contribute to the understanding of contemporary social phenomena, philosophical perspectives, and communication practices. The journal encourages interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research that integrates theoretical insights with practical applications to address emerging challenges at local, national, and global levels. Manuscripts submitted to the journal are expected to demonstrate originality, methodological rigor, theoretical significance, and practical relevance.

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Peer Review Process

  1. Editor recieving manuscript from author;
  2. Editor evaluate manuscript (journal aim and scope, in house style, supplementary data); (Rejected if not meet criteria)
  3. Editor screening for plagiarism on offline and online database manually; (Rejected if found major plagiarism, contacted author if found redunancy or minor plagiarism for clarification)
  4. Editor send manuscript to reviewer along with review form (double blind review, Both reviewer and author remain anonymous to each other);
  5. Reviewer send back his review form to Editor (with revised manuscript if necessary);
  6. Editor decision (rejected, require major revision, need minor revision, or accepted);
  7. Confirmation to the Author.
  8. If revision, author revised manuscripts and should be returned to the editor without delay. Returned later than three months will be considered as new submissions.

Reference Management

Every article submitted to Jurnal Sosfilkom shall use reference management software Mendeley.

Originality

Submitting your manuscript to our journal, we understand that this it is an original manuscript and is unpublished work and is not under consideration elsewhere. Plagiarism, including duplicate publication of the author’s own work, in whole or in part without proper citation is not tolerated by the journal. Manuscripts submitted to the journal may be checked for originality using anti-plagiarism software.
